To name just a few: the production-ready cobots, the Power Compact bar packer with Comfort Feeder for feeding blanks directly from the pallet, another Power Compact line for filling natural cosmetics in the smallest of spaces, and a concept study for the next generation of machines. Daily guided tours with Schubert experts were available to visitors looking for more in-depth information, and several thematic islands rounded off Schubert’s exhibition. The response was extremely positive as reflected by the many visitors to the stand, lively discussions and several promising new leads – a glowing endorsement for the entire Schubert team.

From 4 to 10 May, close to 2,800 exhibitors presented their latest technologies and solutions for the packaging industry at the interpack in Düsseldorf. Some 143,000 visitors from 155 countries attended the event to take advantage of the far-reaching product and service offering. Although the number of participants was slightly lower than at the last interpack in 2017, which attracted over 170,000 visitors, this year’s fair demonstrated that it is still the most influential and largest industry event for the international packaging industry. It wasn't just the overall interpack event that was a success, Schubert’s presence and offering at the show were also very well received. Martin Sauter, Sales Manager at Gerhard Schubert GmbH, reports: “In spite of the lower overall number of attendees, we increased the number of our leads – potential customers who are very interested in our solutions – by 25 per cent compared to 2017. In addition to new contacts, we also welcomed many existing customers to our stand. And even our competitors praised our innovative machines.”

It would be difficult for Schubert to determine which of its exhibits sparked the most interest. The flowpacker, with its exceptional flexibility in terms of processing a variety of materials, received very positive feedback. The TLM 7 machine, a concept study for Schubert’s new generation of machines which was presented to the public for the first time, was also a real crowd pleaser, as was the Comfort Feeder, which revolutionises material feeding. The state-of-the-art Dotlock technology, with which Schubert will be taking another major step towards sustainability in the future, also generated a great deal of interest: The innovation enables extremely strong cardboard bonding without requiring hot glue. Martin Sauter sums it up: “All our exhibits were considered highlights by the visitors. And thanks to the tremendous variety of our machines and services – such as our new Packaging Perspectives programme for sustainable packaging – many visitors discovered Schubert as a compelling solution provider for the very first time. And we are very pleased about this as well.”

At the international press conference held by Schubert to kick off the first day of the trade fair, Schubert provided information on the current status of the expansion of the Crailsheim site, which is now underway. By the end of 2023, a new final assembly hall with an office wing for design and IT will be completed and available to some 300 employees – on an area of close to 12,000 square metres. Schubert has planned investments of roughly 45 million euros for this project alone.

The Crailsheim-based packaging specialist is delighted with the outcome of the trade fair: There was a strong turnout for all the exhibits and guided tours, great interest in all of Schubert’s topics and many visitors to the stand. The success can be attributed to the entire Schubert team. Ralf Schubert, Managing Partner of Gerhard Schubert GmbH, explains: “The run-up to the interpack was marked by intense preparation, and many of our employees were also fully committed during the fair. I am certain that our successful trade fair appearance at the interpack is primarily thanks to this joint effort and well-coordinated team.”
