  • Publicado el 15 de Enero de 2018

Futamura, the world’s leading manufacturer of renewable and compostable films for the flexible packaging industry, is celebrating a 25% growth in sales of its renewable and compostable NatureFlex films. Sales and marketing manager – EMEA, Andy Sweetman, said; “The growth in NatureFlex sales can be attributed to the growing trend by retailers and brand owners to be more environmentally responsible in the sourcing and disposal of their packaging materials.”

NatureFlex cellulose films are made from responsibly resourced wood pulp and are the next generation of Cellophane™ film, also made from wood pulp. The renewable content of our films is circa 95%. NatureFlex films are independently certified to both EU (EN13432) and US (ASTM D6400) industrial composting standards and have reached the standard required for home composting by Vinçotte. It is an excellent example of a circular economy in action.

NatureFlex biodegrades in waste water and has been tested for marine biodegredation according to the ASTM D6691-09 Futamura continues to test NatureFlex to ensure compliance with future marine degradation regulations. NatureFlex provides high barrier to moisture, aroma and gasses, has excellent transparency and high gloss and is suitable for a number of flexible packaging applications including as a barrier layer for bio-laminates.
