ABG’s Digicon Series 3 to spearhead Sturdy Print’s digital foray

Leading print finishing equipment manufacturer, A B Graphic International (ABG), has recently supplied specialist label printer, Sturdy Print, with a high-spec Digicon Series 3 finishing press. The investment is aimed at increasing its capabilities and satisfying the current and future demands of its trade customers.

Over the years, Sturdy Print has maintained a longstanding relationship with ABG. Its slitter/rewinders have been instrumental in Sturdy Print's operations, consistently delivering in terms of durability and performance. This history of dependability and ABG’s market-leading status in digital finishing equipment was pivotal in Sturdy Print’s decision to utilise ABG’s technology for its digital venture.

Renowned for its outstanding customisation and modular design, ABG’s Digicon Series 3 perfectly matches Sturdy Print's commitment to deliver tailor-made solutions. This new addition is designed to immediately fulfil the needs of its customers, while also providing adaptability to adjust and enhance capabilities in anticipation of future market developments. The machine is fully equipped, featuring an auto-slitting module, unwind station, dual flexo heads, in-register lamination and cold foil, high-speed flatbed screen printer, die-cutting, dual turret rewind and a delamination and relamination module.

Concurrent with this technological upgrade, Sturdy Print has expanded its infrastructure by opening a state-of-the-art facility adjacent to its existing factory. The new unit is specifically designed to house the digital label printing equipment, featuring a clean room with built-in climate control to ensure optimal operation. This strategic expansion not only enhances production capacity but also lays the groundwork for future growth and innovation.
